Emergency Services
The Emergency Department at St. Helena Hospital provides emergency care for the
upper Napa Valley region and throughout Northern California.
Our care-giving team is made up of experienced physicians who are board
certified and/or highly trained in Emergency Medicine, and nurses with advanced
training in Emergency Nursing, all supported by the hospital’s on-call
specialists. St. Helena’s Percutaneous Cardiac Interventional (PCI) time, the
average time from entry into the ER to actual interventional treatment for a
cardiac event, is 95 minutes, compared with a national average of 120 minutes.
Those minutes can be mean less damage to your heart, and the difference between
full recovery from a heart attack and partial recovery that may affect the rest
of your life.
If you’re having a heart attack, there’s no better place to go. In fact, we
receive emergency heart cases and transfers from Napa, Lake and Mendocino
Counties, via ambulance and helicopter.
